Hello dear readers,
Hopefully you can forgive me, but I ducked out on the blog, the novel, and all other forms of responsibility yesterday. Instead, I went to the beach. (Above is a pic of the actual beach I visited.)
It was one of those all-too-rare perfect summer days: sunny, warm, with just a hint of a cool breeze now and then. No humidity in sight. I went with my best friend and a girl she’s known since kindergarten, and we had a fantastic time. Every now and then, I figure one has to play hooky. That’s what living your best life is all about.
This week will be filled with celebrations for The Boy’s birthday, but next week I will have no more excuses!
Do you find it harder to stick to your goals in the summer? What are your favorite summer activities?
Hi Holli, I’m just catching up on Blog reading. (playing my own version of hooky with our house guest, Oliver, the big black lab) Wow, this is uncanny – there are whirring gatherings of Dragonflies all over the Province obviously, on our park walks, and now in my own back yard. It is truly a Dragon Fly Summer 🙂 Wonderful, I love them too. And yes this has to be propitious for your book. Okay, hooky is over – back to the page. Unless of course we catch another perfect day (like today) summer is just too short to overlook. 🙂
Hi Jocelyn! Welcome back, I’ve missed you. There’s something so wonderful about dragonflies. I can watch them for hours.
I’ve been really neglecting my book lately. I’m hoping to get in a few good hours on Sunday, and I’ll have really exciting news on the writing front that I’ll post on the blog tomorrow!
