About J.H. Moncrieff
Raised in the far north, amid Jack London’s world of dog sleds and endless winters, J.H. Moncrieff has been obsessed with psychological suspense, mysteries, and true crime for as long as she can remember. She’s endlessly fascinated by what makes people tick and has visited many of the world’s most haunted places.
J.H. won Harlequin’s international search for “the next Gillian Flynn” and has co-written a psychological suspense for the publisher that will be released in June 2017.
Her novella, 2015’s The Bear Who Wouldn’t Leave, stayed on Samhain’s horror bestsellers list for over a year.
J.H. began her writing career as a journalist, tracking down snipers and canoeing through crocodile-infested waters. Her articles have appeared in many national and international publications, including The Globe and Mail. She’s also been a book doctor for a NYC literary agent and a professional ghostwriter with Gotham Ghostwriters in New York.
In her spare time, J.H. loves exploring haunted places, advocating for environmental and animal rights, and channeling her inner ninja in muay thai class—when her nose isn’t stuck in a book.
She still accepts select clients for developmental editing and career coaching. If you’re interested in working with her, contact her via the form below.
